Annette Poole

Annette Poole, 99, of Fergus Falls, MN, died on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Woodland Lodge in Fergus Falls under the care of LB Hospice.

Annette Irene was born on October 23, 1919, in Bemidji, Minnesota the daughter of Anton and Gena (Boe) Wold. She attended school in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1937. Annette then attended DeGuile Academy in Minneapolis and graduated as a Licensed Beautician. She was owner/manager of the Modernistic Beauty Shop in Bemidji.

On November 20, 1941, she married Duane “Bud” Poole. On August 3, 1944, their beloved daughter, Nancy was born. In 1949, the family moved to Fergus Falls where Bud worked at Ottertail Power as Safety Director. They remained in Fergus Falls after retirement. She is a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she served as circle Chairman and Co-Chairman, taught Sunday School and Release Time, served on the Education Commissions, a lifetime member of the U.M.W. (Women’s Society), member of the prayer chain from the inception. Annette loved her Bible Studies, enjoyed working in the community and was active with Health Resources (Agape Pregnancy Center) from the very beginning. She served on the board of the Y.M.C.A (Y’s Folks) and liked participating in their fund raisers. She was a longtime member of the Ladies Sewing Group and of the Dinner Club.

Annette’s hobbies included traveling, reading, knitting, walking and biking with family. Sharing her hospitality with family and friends was important to her, but sharing the love of Jesus Christ was her passion.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Duane on August 22, 1996; an infant son; four brothers, Edward (Bernie), Russell, Len and Don Wold.

Her family includes her daughter Nancy Walvatne, son-in-law, Curt Walvatne both of Fergus Falls, two granddaughters, Nicole (Erik) Anderson of Fergus Falls and Roxanne (Chris) Larson of Long Prairie; along with three great grandchildren, Cameron and Benjamin Larson and Bo Anderson along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorial Service: 1:00 P.M., Monday June 10, 2019, at Woodland Lodge in Fergus Falls.
