Mayme Heiden

Mayme Mary Ann (Johnson) Heiden, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Saturday, February 8, 2014, at the Broen Home, with her family by her side.

She was born December 8, 1926 to Ludvick and Clara (Moen) Johnson in rural Vining, Minnesota. She attended school in Vining and Henning, and was confirmed at Nidaros Church. In 1944, she moved with her family to Fergus Falls. Mayme worked at Muggs Ice Cream Shop and at the Fergus Falls State Hospital for five years. After her children were in school, she started working at the Broen Home, where she worked as a CNA for twenty-one years, until her retirement in 1989.

On October 1, 1955, she married Cameron Heiden. They had four children: Sandra, Michael, Diane and Pamela.

Mayme was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, where she was involved in Ladies Aid, and quilting, in addition to teaching both Sunday and Wednesday School.

Family was most important to Mayme, especially time spent with her grandchildren. She was a skilled seamstress, enjoyed baking, visiting, looking at old photos, and was known for sewing clothes for dolls and for her family.

Mayme is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Cameron of Fergus Falls; her children: Sandra (Terry) Bedard, Michael (Lonee) Heiden, Diane Shearer and Pam (Kraig) Stach, all of Fergus Falls; grandchildren: David (Lynn) Bedard, Jessica Hasbargen, Gene (Kate) Bedard, Elisha Bedard, Jenna (Zac) Svir, Tracee (Jason) Guthrie, Janie Schloeder, Nycole (Taylor) Larson, Jesse Shearer, James (Michelle) Shearer, Megan Shearer, Zack (Amanda) Stach, Corey (Gabby) Stach, and Kris (Mya) Stach; great-grandchildren: Lily, Tyler, Anniesa, John, Levi, Paisley, Jude, Delilah, Haylie, Trent, Laycie, Makayla, Lilian, Daymian, and Teylor; a brother, Al (Rosalie) Johnson of Elk River, MN; two sisters, Helen (Chuck) Tollerud of Bismarck, ND and Rosie Bellemare of Horace, ND; and three sisters-in-law, Barb Johnson, Audrey Thompson, and LaVane (Ole) Ugstad, all of Fergus Falls; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mayme was preceded in death by her siblings, Truman, Ernest, Joseph, John, Ruby Sharp and Louvella Johnson.

Visitation: 5 – 7 PM Friday, February 14, 2014, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls. Visitation resumes one hour prior to services at the church.

Funeral Service: 11 AM Saturday, at Zion Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls

Interment: Nidaros Lutheran Cemetery, Clitherall
