Mary Ehle, 98 of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Battle Lake, MN died Friday, April 2, 2021, at the Avera Prince of Peace Long Term Care and Hospice in Sioux Falls.

Mary Catherine Ehle was born on October 21, 1922, in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Bert and Anna (Micheals) Stern.  She was baptized in the Catholic Faith and attended school at East High School in Waterloo.

Mary and Donald Ehle were married on December 24, 1939.  They lived in Waterloo, Des Moines and then returned to Waterloo, where Mary worked for Friedl's Prime Rib Room, off and on, for thirty-three years.  In October of 1969, they moved to Battle Lake where she worked part-time for The Village Apothecary, one year with Moen Inn, and returned to the Village Apothecary where she was employed for thirty years.  Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

She is survived by one son,  James Albert (Celia) Ehle of LaCrosse, WI; three daughters, Jacqueline Kay (Larry) Brockway of Cedar Falls, IA,  LeAnn Mary (Kenneth) Bawden of Deer Park, WA, and Lacey JoAnn Ehle of Sioux Falls, SD; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, two sons Donald LeRoy Ehle Jr. and Jerri Joseph Ehle Sr.; parents, Bert and Anna Stern; and five brothers, Barthold, Lloyd, Joseph, Leo and John Stern.

There will be a Graveside Memorial Service, at a later date, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in Battle Lake.
