Lois Vogt, 85, of Elgin, IL, summertime resident of Eagle Lake, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Heritage Woods Assisted Living in Huntley, IL.
On June 5, 1948 Lois married her true love, Alvin Vogt, and they resided in Elgin for all of their 63 years of marriage, vacationing every year at Eagle Lake, in Battle Lake, Minnesota. Alvin preceded Lois in death in 2011. Lois was a fun-loving person who enjoyed working. She worked for many years at McGraw-Toastmaster, then went on to work for more than 25 years for School District U-46, working in the cafeterias of Larsen Middle School, Elgin High School and finally, Streamwood High School where she retired in 2003.
Children were her favorite part of her life! Whether they were her own grandchildren or the students she fed, she loved them all! Everyone called her "Gramma". She had a generous heart and loved to laugh. She will be missed and remembered by many friends.
Lois is survived by her loving family, Diana (Michael) Massey of Elgin, Cyndi (John) Downey of Elgin and Robert (Stacey) Massey of Elgin. 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
