Dianne M. Holten, 68, of Fergus Falls, died on Monday, February 7, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by family.

Dianne Marie was born on August 3, 1953, in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Roy Peter and Deloris Adeline (Dunrud) Bondley.  She was baptized at the Silverton Lutheran Church and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Harwood, North Dakota. Dianne attended grade school in Harwood and graduated from West Fargo High School in 1971.  She furthered her education attending Anoka Nursing School, North Dakota State University and University of North Dakota where she received her AND, LPN, RN and BSN in nursing. Dianne’s passion for veterans led her to enlist in the U.S. Army Reserves where she served as a 1st Lieutenant Nurse from 1989-1999, serving in Iraq during Desert Storm.

On November 26, 1993, she married the love of her life, Steve Holten at Bonanzaville in West Fargo. Dianne worked at the Fargo Veterans Hospital for over 33 years before retiring. Dianne and Steve enjoyed their cabin on Lake Lizzie before building their year-round home on Lake Lida. They also lived on Crystal Lake until recently moving to Fergus Falls due to Dianne’s health. She had a passion for serving the military community which led her and Steve to volunteer and donate time to organizations such as the VFW, Wounded Warriors Project. Her recent passion was to donate her time to Holbrook Farms Retreat which was near and dear to her heart. Dianne also was a member of the Harley Hog Club.

Dianne and Steve enjoyed attending Nascar races, were season ticket holders to Fargo Force Hockey and Minnesota Vikings Games.  Dianne loved her years working on the farm during harvest, loved all animals and was an excellent gardener, tending to her vegetable, tree and flower gardens. Dianne and Steve took many wonderful vacations travelling from the West to East Coast, Mexico, Canada and Alaska, also taking various cruises. Steve and Dianne spent 27 years wintering in Bucceries, Mexico on the ocean and Harlingen, Texas. Dianne was a fantastic cook and wine maker. She cherished her time spent with nieces and nephews. Blessed be the memory of Dianne  Holten.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Deloris; sister-in-law, Jane Bondley; brother-in-law, John Raschka; special friend, Al Bandvik; father-in-law, Leroy Holten and furry friends, Jake and Lucy.

Dianne is survived by her loving husband, Steve Holten of MN; siblings, Carol Bondley of OR, Brenda (Bill) Raschka of CO, Larry Bondley of MN, Tammy (Gif) Giffey of MN; sister-in-laws, Kathy (Blaine) Gerlach of SC, Patty (Jack) Gerbering of MN and Pam (Roy) Musland of ND; brother-in-law, Jon Holten          of MN; mother-in-law, Vivian Holten of MN ; fur friend, Lucky and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.

There will be a Private Family Celebration of Life at a later date.

Interment will take place at the Silverton Church Cemetery in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.
