Carl Rohloff

October 29, 1920 — April 9, 2013

Carl (Carly) Rohloff, 92 of rural Ashby, Minnesota died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Evansville Care Campus.

Carl Theodore Rohloff was born on October 29, 1920 by rural Evansville the son of Julius and Alma (Braun) Rohloff. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christina Lake Lutheran Church and attended Rural School District #52 near Evansville.

After his schooling, he started farming with his Dad and a few years later he purchased his own farm. He did general farming, operating his farm until his retirement. Carly enjoyed gardening, having a large garden along with a couple sweet corn fields. He always kept track of what he planted, enjoying giving away his produce along with delivering eggs. Carly was known for his good memory, remembering dates, numbers and details about many things. He enjoyed making peg board games, making a couple hundred giving to those who promised to enjoy the game. He liked dogs and in his younger days hunting and fishing. In retirement enjoyed an annual ten day winter vacation to Los Angeles, California visiting his sister, Rosann. When Carly was seventy he was burned in a house fire, ending up in the Ramsey Burn Unit, where he used very little pain medicine and kept a good appetite which helped with his fast recovery.

Carly is survived by his sisters Marian Johnson of Fergus Falls, Ethel Olson of Evansville, Gladys Vogt of Alexandria and Rosann Bergman of Los Angeles, CA; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Alma and 2 brothers, Edwin and Theodore.

A special thank you to everyone at Evansville Care Campus for the excellent care and friendship given to Carly.
