William Froebel

February 10, 1943 — March 14, 2017

William Froebel, 74, of Clitherall formerly on Minocqua, WI, grew his wings and flew to heaven on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, surrounded by the loving family at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Society in Battle Lake, MN. William David Froebel was born on February 10, 1943 in Curtiss, WI, to Erich and Leola (Wilson) Froebel.

William graduated from Beloit High School in Beloit, Wisconsin, and furthered his education in the professional field of design, as a design engineer for major US paper production companies. Along with former spouse, Lynda, they moved to Minocqua, WI, where they operated a family owned motel and raised three children, Robert Froebel, Judith (Gary) Bosivert and Leanne Froebel. In 1996, William married Rebecca Klimp and became step-father to three more children, Heather (Tony) Gulley, Elizabeth Doll and Jennifer (John) Goodman. Together William and Rebecca have celebrated the joys of thirteen grandchildren.

Among William's many accomplishments, he was a home remodeler, raced cars and was an avid pool player and bowler. William is a direct descendent of the founder of Kindergarten, Friedrich Froebel. In his senior years he fell in love with Fretwork woodworking and created many fine art pieces. He also liked card playing, vegetable gardening, and although color blind, loved the beauty when growing flowers.

He is survived by one sister, Suzanne, (Jim) Faris, wife Rebecca, nieces, nephews, six children and thirteen grandchildren.

His jovial personality will be missed by family and friends, but remembered forever.

Memorial Service is pending at the Good Samaritan Society, Battle Lake.
