Lewis Wayne LeFrancois was born on October 4, 1944 in
St. Louis
,
Missouri
the son of Lewis E. and Peggy (Sladek) Meyers.
He attended school in
California
, and after high school served in the U. S. Navy, stationed in
Long Beach
,
California
,
Pearl Harbor
,
Hawaii
and then served in
Vietnam
as a Third Class Petty Officer in supplies.
After his discharge he moved to
Oregon
where he attended two years of college in accounting.
Wayne and Linda Patraw were married on May 2, 1964 in
Torrance
,
California
.
They lived in
Oregon
where
Wayne
was General Manager with Diamond Industries in
Grants Pass
,
Oregon
.
In 1979 they moved to
Minnesota
where he then began over the road truck driving for Wahpeton Canvas, Jim Anderson Trucking, Fosse Trucking.
He also worked for Ottertail Coaches, driving charter buses to various locations along with school bus driving in
Fergus
Falls
.
He finished his truck driving career with Viesmann Trucking of Wahpeton.
Wayne
enjoyed gardening, flower gardening which he was very proud of his Dahlias, woodworking, fishing and he loved to cook.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; six children, Penny, April, Candace, Peggy, Wayne Jr. and Christopher; nineteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia and Delores and by numerous friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
