Wallace E. Lubben, 100, of Fergus Falls, died on Monday, September 15, 2025, at the MN Veterans Home in Fergus Falls.
Wallace Ervin was born on November 12, 1924, in LeMars, Iowa, the son of Gerd and Sophie (Weber) Lubben. After his family moved to farm in the Wheaton area of Minnesota, he attended rural school through the 8th grade. Wally served in the US Navy from 1944-46 where he was stationed in the Philippines and was honorably discharged.
On June 23, 1951, Wally married Margaret Minnie Davis in Wheaton, MN. Their 71 years of marriage endured crop failure on their farm near Fergus Falls, after which they moved to Michigan where Wally worked as a dairy herdsman for several years. After their first daughter was born, they returned to Minnesota to farm. In 1964, the farm was sold and they moved into town. Wally worked at the Fergus Falls State Hospital for 21 years.
Wally was an active member of Trinity and Faith Lutheran Churches. He enjoyed family gatherings and reunions, playing pool, woodworking and singing with the Sounds of Faith.
Wally is survived by his daughters, Cindy Christensen and Karen Rheinberger; five grandchildren, Eric (Molly), Erin (Austin), Carol (Rick), Meghan and Paul (Kara); five great grandchildren, Camden, Raylene, Maysa, Gavin and Henry along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerd and Sophie; his spouse, Margaret Lubben; two sisters, Marie and Clara; seven brothers, Harm, Albert, Walter, Victor, Sylvester, Darrell and Lowell and a son-in-law, Frank Rheinberger.
Memorials preferred to the Morning Watch previously the Lutheran Hour.
Service: 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls, with a visitation from 1:30-2:00.
