Scott Grohn

Scott Grohn, 51, of Fergus Falls, died Monday, June 4, 2018, in Sanford Health Palliative Care, Fargo, ND.

Scott Allen Grohn was born on October 26, 1966 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He was baptized at First Lutheran Church, LaCrosse, WI and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls.  Scott graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1985, where he was active in football, basketball, and track.  He went on to attend paramedic training at FM Ambulance in Fargo and relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked as a paramedic.  While living in Omaha, Scott furthered his education and received a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration.

Scott married Tracy Staska in Omaha, and they were blessed with two daughters: Emilee and Rachael.

Scott later relocated to Houston, Texas, where he began his work in healthcare administration.  While living in Houston, he met Danielle Greer, and together, they raised a son, Nicholas.

In his spare time, Scott enjoyed fishing, coaching football, cooking, and loved to entertain.  He also had a passion for serving others, especially elderly and end of life patients. Scott was especially proud of his granddaughter, Ayla.

Scott is survived by his daughters, Emilee (Sam) Blackstone and Rachael Grohn, both of Omaha, NE; a son, Nicholas Greer of Huffman, TX; the light of his life—his only granddaughter, Ayla Blackstone; parents, Allen and Gloria Grohn of Fergus Falls; sisters, Brenda (Ted) Haar of Alexandria, Christine (Todd) Lauzon of Grand Forks, ND, and Susan (Marc) Beck of Anchorage, AK; nephews and nieces, Amanda (Brett) Johnson, Ryan (Ashley) Haar, and Allison Haar; Conner, Erica, and Riley Lauzon; Andrew, Charlie, and Henry Beck; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and great niece and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alice Grohn, Donald and Margaret Grohn; and George and Marian Kuehn.

Visitation: 5 – 7 PM Monday, June 25, 2018, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to services.

Funeral Service:  11 AM Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls

Interment:  Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls
