Sandra Barry

Sandra Barry, 79, of Ashby, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 9th, 2019 at Sanford Health, Fargo, North Dakota.  She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sandra was born on April 18, 1940, the 2nd child to Morris and Sylvia Langlie.   Growing up she loved playing with her brothers Gayle, Roger and Jack.  She attended country school and after graduation attended beauty school.  Sandra was a nanny for a family in Fergus Falls during her summers as well as helping on the farm.  After her children were in school, Sandra started as a custodian at the school and then spent an additional 43 years of her life as a School Cook.  Sandra loved the Ashby School- the children and the teachers were like no other in Sandra’s eyes.  She spoiled many kids with her cooking with extras like rice pudding, cinnamon toast, desserts, and chocolate chip cookies.

Sandra met the love of her life David Barry and they were married on March 18, 1961.  Dave and Sandra were inseparable until his passing.  With and without Dave, her favorite activities included trips, fishing, family time, gardening, relaxing on her porch waiting for someone to stop by to visit, and playing cards.   Later in life, Sandra loved her girl trips with her daughters and spending time at Spitzer Lake.  Sandra was passionate about The Bold and the Beautiful plus watching Wheel of Fortune with her son Brian.

Sandra is survived by her five children Brian Barry, Vickie (Tony) Ness, Brenda (Paul) Evans, Vonnie (Vic) Evavold and Blaine (Missy) Barry; ten grandchildren Amanda (Justin), Mason (Maggie), Dylan (Becca), Joshua, Sadie (Chad), Zach (Ashley), Amelia Barry, Spence Evans and Bennett Evans; one great grandchild Silas.  Brothers Gayle, Roger (Joyce), and Jack plus her constant companion, her dog Teddy Barry.

Memorial Service: 11 AM Thursday, December 12 at Grue Lutheran Church, Ashby

Visitation: Wednesday 5-7 PM with memory sharing at 6:30 PM at Glende Nilson Funeral Chapel, Ashby and one hour prior to the service at the church
