Rose (Jochim) Wulfekuhle, 88, of Fergus Falls, passed away on July 31 at Pioneer Care Center in Fergus Falls, MN.
Rose Marie Wulfekuhle was born June 14, 1937, to Anton and Eva (Fix) Jochim in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. Her early years were spent on the family farm where she started helping at a young age. Later, the family moved to Grey Eagle, MN and attended country school in Grey Eagle. She graduated from Long Prairie High School. She loved spending time with her siblings, their families, and sharing in special events. Rose married Charles Wulfekuhle on July 23, 1962, in Long Prairie, MN. The couple lived on a dairy and hog farm near Wendell, raising their family. In the early 1980’s Rose worked at Martineau’s Chicken Farm. She dedicated her service to others in many ways; homemaking, cleaning, ironing, helping at church. She was hardworking and known for her steadfast kindness to others. In the late 1980’s through 2013, Rose worked at several school districts as a cook and server. She enjoyed serving all the students.
Rose was the heart and soul of the family. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved having family get-togethers and cooking large meals. Her recipes were treasured and often never completely replicated. She enjoyed gardening and canning with her family, playing card games, and embroidering. She was a gifted dish towel embroider; many were given as gifts or donated to the church. She loved being around children and encouraging them to be their best. She ended each phone call with an endearing ‘love you’.
Rose was actively involved with Our Lady of Victory of Fergus Falls and St Olaf Catholic Church of Elbow Lake Catholic Daughters providing spiritual growth and service to the community.
Rose is survived by her six children: Bobby Wulfekuhle of Fergus Falls; Rodney (Chris) Wulfekuhle of Ogilvie, MN; Cheryl (Jason) Klosterman of Mooreton, ND; Randy (Karen) Wulfekuhle of Battle Lake, MN; Dean (Nicole) Wulfekuhle of St Cloud, MN; Vicky (Kevin) Muchow of Fergus Falls, MN. 14 grandchildren: Shawna and Heather Wulfekuhle; Wayne and Jake Wulfekuhle; Ethan and Nicole Klosterman; Tanner (Ally), Rachel, and Henry Wulfekuhle; Ffion, Imogen and Mollie Joseph; Andrew and Amber Muchow, and 7 great-grandchildren. Siblings: sister Rita Klaphake of Melrose, MN; sister-in- law Catherine Jochim of Milan, IL; brothers Eugene (Sharon) Jochim of East Dubuque, IL; and Roger (Terri) Jochim of St Cloud, MN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Eva Jochim; her husband Charles Wulfekuhle; siblings: Albert Jochim, Agnes Kircher, and Charlotte Becker.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 9:30 am- 10:30 am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Fergus Falls, MN. Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 am. The service will be officiated by Father Alan Wielinski and Deacon Dean Pawlowski. Interment will be in St. Otto’s Cemetery in Fergus Falls. Arrangements with Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls.
The Wulfekuhle Family would like to thank the Pioneer Care Center nurses and staff along with Hearts in Action Hospice of Fergus Falls, MN, for their professionalism and compassion to our mother and family.
Rose will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and great – grandchildren, friends, and all who knew her.
