Obituary

Raymond Lee Misemer, born on June 22, 1954, in Minot, North Dakota, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the Barrett Care Center. He lived his life in several towns across North Dakota and Minnesota, most recently in Fergus Falls and Barrett, Minnesota.

Ray was foodie, particularly enjoying seafood, fish and a good steak. He had a special fondness for making and enjoying Rullepolse, a Scandinavian spiced cold cut. A highlight of his seafood experiences came during a family trip to Alaska in 2008, when he eagerly shipped back fresh Alaskan seafood to savor for many months.

During his time in Barrett, Ray enjoyed outings with his sister Julie as they explored the excellent restaurants in Lakes Country, often trying places recommended by staff. He also appreciated the diverse range of food that Julie brought him from different restaurants on her visits to see him.

Ray was part of a large family, growing up with five siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wes and his sister Sandra. He is survived by his sisters Julie, Cheryl (Myron) and Jan (Steve), brother-in-law Dan and sister-in-law Lonnie, along with 13 nieces and nephews.

The family expresses their deep gratitude to the staff at Barrett Care Center for the wonderful care and attention Ray received, especially from Joe, Cindy, Paul and others who shared fresh produce and canned goods with him.

Ray will be remembered for his love of food, his fun-loving spirit (dancing to Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman), talking sports and joking with staff.

No services are planned per Raymond's wishes.
