Paul Beyer

Paul H. Beyer, 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Park Gardens in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Monday June 29, 2026, at Glende-Nilson Funeral home with prayers at 6:30, the visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the service. Graveside service will be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in Battle Lake. Arrangements with Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls.

Paul H. Beyer, 88, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Park Gardens in Fergus Falls, MN. He has joined his lifelong soulmate Barb Beyer, and beloved daughters Amy and Lisa in their Heavenly home.

Paul Henry Beyer was born on February 17, 1938 in Breckenridge, MN to parents Anna (Conzemius) and Herman Beyer. He attended District 17 Wilkin County School and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1956.

From 1957-1959 he served in the US Army stationed at Fort McNair in Washington DC. He proudly marched for President Eisenhower and at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He also took great pride in cooking for the officers and Army personnel that worked at the Pentagon. In 1961 he attended college at NDSSS, earning a degree in auto body repair. During this time, he worked for Traverse Motors Ford Dealership in Wheaton, MN.

On August 25, 1962, he married his lifelong soulmate Barbara Anne Satovich. When Paul and Barb started their family, they began their dedicated partnership in raising their five children: Mike, Lynn, Lisa and twins Amy & Anne. Also, during that time, they began their partnership as business owners of the Ford Dealership in Ortonville, MN from 1962-1965. In 1965, they started their own business, Beyer Body Shop and Towing in Benson, MN. In 1976 they moved Beyer Body Shop and Towing to Fergus Falls, MN; retiring in 2016. In 2017 their son Mike took over.

Paul and Barb enjoyed living the lake life at the log cabin they built on Silver Lake in 1978, to building their home on West Battle Lake in 1995. They also enjoyed their “Deer Farm” where their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren all learned their love of deer hunting, countless hours fishing year-round, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and all things related to the outdoors. This has become one of their greatest joys in life, as they have lovingly nurtured a family legacy with and for their family for generations to come.

Paul and Barb were huge Minnesota Twins Baseball fans, attending spring training in Fort Meyers, Florida for 33 consecutive years.

Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting and all things John Deere; especially tractors so he could farm at the “Deer Woods." Johnny the 4-wheeler was his bestie! He cherished 40+ years of Canadian fly-in-fishing trips with family and friends. His pride and joy was sharing the family fly-in fishing trips with Barb and their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He lived just long enough to see the pictures of the fourth generation sharing the Beyer family tradition of fly-ins.

Paul served on the autobody board of directors at Wahpeton NDSCS, Detroit Lakes Tech and Willmar Tech. He was a Lions Club Member. He served on the building committee at Our Lady of Victory and Our Lady of the Lake churches and also a trustee at Our Lady of the Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beautiful loving wife, Barb; daughters, Amy (1998) and Lisa (2007); siblings, Alfred, Herman Jr., Rosella, Mary Ann, and Sister Vivian.

He is survived by son Mike (JoLynn) Beyer, daughter Lynn (Scott) Remsberg and daughter Anne Beyer. Grandchildren Justin (Josey) Beyer, Jenna (Mason) Hegstad, Nicky (Jacob) Haugen, Jason (Cassie) Jorgenson. Great grandchildren Savannah, Maverick, Colby, Chase, Carly, Vivian, Oliver, Quinn, Redick, and Oakley; sisters, Rita and Franny; brothers-in-law Francis Satovich, Rod Oberg, and Dan Voce.
