Pamela (Melby) Peake was born on January 23, 1948, in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, the first daughter of Harrison and Bernice (Sebey) Melby. After high school, Pamela went to Minneapolis to persue her education in the medical laboratory sciences field. In 1970, Pamela married Thomas Byars, and the couple was blessed with four children, Molly, Katie, Jason, and Michael. Later the family moved to Rapid City, South Dakota. In Rapid City, she worked for many years at the Cancer Institute and was an active member of the PTA.
On Nov. 4, 1995, she married Edward Peake Jr. In 1996, they moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she continued her career in medical transcription. They enjoyed traveling and working together in the yard. In 2004, Pam and Ed moved to Battle Lake, Minnesota, to care for her mother Bernice. Eventually, she retired from medical transcription. Pam then had a brief post retirement career at Home Depot where she, Ed, Molly, and Michael worked for a number of years. They enjoyed the many friends new and old that came into their lives.
Pam is survived by her children, Molly Bruiniga of Battle Lake, MN, Katie Jenkins of Alexandra, VA, Jason (Melissa) Byars of Rapid City, SD, and Michael Byars of Fergus Falls, MN; six grandchildren, Harrison, Emma, Charli, Cooper, Luke, and Noah; sister, Patricia Kelm of Battle Lake, MN; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Bernice Melby; and her husband Edward Peake Jr.
