Michael Henry Veazie, a beloved member of the Dent community, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, surrounded by family. He was 70 years old. Michael was born on June 13, 1953, in Fergus Falls, MN, to his parents, Clifford and Ella Veazie. While in school, Michael worked on the family farm and attended country school in rural Dent. He continued living life on the farm where he raised his family as well as a variety of farm animals.
Throughout his life, Michael displayed a strong work ethic and passion for carpentry. After graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1971, he dedicated over 25 years to a successful career in commercial construction working for Russell Construction and later starting his own business VZ Construction until he retired. His commitment and craftsmanship were admired by all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Michael was formerly married to Carolyn Joy Neubauer in 1973 and they welcomed their son, Patrick Michael Veazie into life.
On June 2, 1989, he married LaRae Jean Kegley in Sisseton, SD. Shortly after, he adopted his daughter LaRae and raised her as his own. They later welcomed their twins, Michael & Randa, and their youngest, Kendra.
Michael's interests were as varied as they were passionate. From shooting pool league to tending to his garden, he found joy in a multitude of hobbies, including hunting, fishing, cooking, birdwatching, and fantasy football. His jokester sense of humor and love for the outdoors made him a cherished member of his community.
In his personal life, Michael cherished the time spent with his family. When working on the road, he would drive for two days, just to spend one day with his family. He never missed a family reunion or sporting event and put his all into supporting his family and friends.
