Marnie Catherine Hoy

Marnie Catherine Hoy (nee Olson), 80, died at her residence in Albuquerque, NM, on June 26th, 2024. Marnie was born on March 3rd, 1944, in Fergus Falls, MN, to Rudolph A. Olson & Irene M. Rasmussen. She grew up in Battle Lake, MN, and attended the BLHS, graduating in 1962. In the mid-60s she moved to Southern California and lived with her sister Corrine. She attended college and worked in Social Services for the State of California. In the early 90s she moved to Albuquerque, NM, and worked as a medical transcriptionist for the University of New Mexico Hospital system. She made several trips back to Battle Lake over the years visiting family and friends. 

Marnie was survived by her sister, Alma Jean Sheppard and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Marnie was predeceased by her brother, Robert Olson, and sisters Beverly Rogers, Constance Olson and Corrine King. 

A private graveside ceremony will be held for immediate family at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Battle Lake, MN. An after-ceremony wake with refreshments will be held from 2pm to 5pm the Sheppard home at 528 East Summit Street in Battle Lake for the immediate friends & family of Alma, Marnie and Corrine.
