Mark Miller, 63 of rural Battle Lake died Thursday, August 22, 2024, unexpectedly at home.
Mark Daniel Miller was born on February 12, 1961, in Perham, Minnesota the son of Alvin and Joan (Lang) Miller. He was baptized in St. Edwards Catholic Church in Henning and confirmed in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake. He attended the Fergus Falls Public School, graduating from the Fergus Falls High School in 1980.
Mark and Kari Peterson were married on April 9, 1983, in the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. They lived in Alexandria, in 1985 moved to Battle Lake, and in 2012 they built their home on Clitherall Lake. Mark worked for Dieseth Specialty Company, Shoremaster, KC Lawn, Daily Journal and now worked for Fleet Farm. Mark mowed the First Lutheran Cemetery, Trinity Cemetery, Skiptvedt Cemetery and just started caring for the Eagle Lake Church cemetery. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, woodworking making many crosses for his family and kiddos. Mark enjoyed his family, hanging out at the bunkhouse, the annual Summer-To-Do Miller Family gathering, and Mark and Kari especially enjoyed Deidre, Zach and the two grandkids, Hayley and Jase and was looking forward to meeting his new grandson who will be joining the family any day. He was a member of Eagle Lake Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Kari; daughter and family, Deidre (Zach) Peterson, Hayley and Jase; mother, Joan Miller; five siblings, Sue (Keith) Kluver, Kayla (Todd) Bechthold, Kurt Miller, Paul Miller and Kari (Mark) Houge; and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Miller; brother, Dean Miller; father and mother-in-law, Art and Karen Peterson; and brother-in-law, Todd Peterson.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church of rural Battle Lake.
Visitation: Monday from 5 to 7 PM, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake and will resume one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday.
Interment: Eagle Lake Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Battle Lake.
