Mark Hagberg

Mark Hagberg passed away on December 14, 2025, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Born on November 20, 1951, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to Robert and Beatrice (Bingham) Hagberg. Mark lived a life defined by adventure and strong family ties.

From a young age, Mark displayed a spirit of adventure that would characterize much of his life. At just 17 years old, he joined the United States Navy, serving his country with honor and pride. Later in life, Mark was a process server, aka- bounty hunter, a job that brought him both challenge and fulfillment. His job often saw him navigating sticky situations. He was known for his gentle wisdom and voice of reason that was endearing to those around him. Family and friends would often seek his advice, knowing they could count on his thoughtful insights and practical solutions.

On November 27, 1982, Mark married Nancy Shol, marking the beginning of a partnership that would last for decades. Together, they built a home filled with love, support, and a spirit of adventure that reflected Mark’s enthusiastic approach to life.

Mark's relationships with his family were characterized by a remarkable balance of affection and respect. He was particularly proud of his ability to have separate but equal connections with each of his children. He took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them the importance of communication and self-empowerment, encouraging them to "talk smart and be somebody."

Aside from his professional pursuits, Mark was an avid shade tree gunsmith, a passionate gearhead, and embraced his upbringing as a farm boy. His hands were often busy with woodwork, where he accomplished the honorable task of building caskets.

Mark is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Krista Hagberg (Curt Proffit), Dylan (Heather) Hagberg, and Bob Hagberg; grandchildren, Corban, Quinn, Liam, Penelope, Ian, Mack, Hudson, and Rowan; niece, Kara (Ben) Nelson; nephews, Todd (Molly) Sprinkel, Jeff (Gayle) Sprinkel, and Chad (Tanya) Sprinkel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Karen (Hagberg) Sprinkel and Tom Hagberg.

Mark leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and adventure, remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. His dedicated spirit and love for life will always be celebrated by those who had the privilege to know him.
