Mark A. Foss, born October 5, 1964, in Fargo, ND, passed away on July 13, 2026, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. His life was definded his deep love for his family, his unwavering dedication to his work, and a remarkable knowledge for machinery.
Mark’s professional journey was guided by a strong work ethic and skillful expertise. Early in his career, he worked in road construction, earning the respect of his peers with his diligence and reliability. Mark then became the proud owner of his own salvage business, 2MT Recycling. For the past ten years, he served as a blade operator for Battle Lake Motor Patrol, where his skills with equipment and his can-do ability left a lasting impression.
On July 14, 1996, he married Missy Kimber at the First Resort in Battle Lake. Together they welcomed two children, Trent (22) and Naomi (11). They shared 30 wonderful years of marriage.
Outside of his professional life, Mark was an avid and knowledgeable collector of International and Case tractors. He found immense joy tinkering and was renowned for his ability to fix anything and operate any type of machinery with ease. Mark’s passion extended to building small block Chevys, a cherished activity he loved sharing with his son, Trent. His talents were not limited to machinery; he also enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and spending time with his children and family.
Mark enjoyed the annual tradition of attending the Dalton Thresherman’s Show, where he was able to take his love of tractors to share with both of his children, Trent and Naomi.
All animals held a special place in his heart — but he really loved taking Loui for rides and sitting in his chair with his "Little Pup" Zeus.
Mark’s life revolved around his loved ones. The only time he wasn’t working was when he was devotedly with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Missy; his son, Trent (Destiney); his daughter, Naomi; his brother-in-law Eric (Christina); his brother-in-law Kory; his sister Carol (Doug); his sister Joyce; as well as many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mentor and Inga Foss and Earl and Lillian Amsbaugh; brothers, Frank, Don and Stevie; sister, Wanda and father and mother-in-law, Allen and Judy Kimber.
He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and heartfelt devotion to those around him. Mark will be remembered for his strong character, remarkable mechanical talents, and the love, warmth and generosity he shared with those around him. His memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with a visitation starting at noon.
Interment: First Lutheran Cemetery, Battle Lake, MN
