Marian Anderson, 83 of Battle Lake died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.
Marian Gloria Anderson was born on July 8, 1931 in Battle Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Christ and Ingeborg (Mekalson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake. Marian graduated from the Battle Lake High School in 1949, then continued her education in Minneapolis becoming a Lab Technician.
Marian and O. LeRoy Anderson were married on September 9, 1951 in Benson, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived on their farm in Clitherall Township, south of Battle Lake. She had been employed with the Wright Hospital in Fergus Falls, the Battle Lake Clinic for many years working for various doctors, and also worked with LeRoy on their family dairy farm. Marian enjoyed square dancing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and baking. Her family was very important to her. The grandchildren remembered Grandma's Caramel rolls and chocolate chip cookies which they enjoyed on their farm visits. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Henning, Sons of Norway in Vining and Battle Lake Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband, LeRoy; six children, Susan (Russ) Duncan of Henning, Orlyn (Karen) Anderson of Forsyth, MT, Kevin (Trina) Anderson of Battle Lake, Kristi (Bill) Riestenberg of Fergus Falls, Paul (Diane) Anderson of Terry, MT and Kerry Anderson of Veblen, SD; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Amy (Donny) Porter, Morgan, Sydney, Chucky, Emma and Isaac of Park River, ND, Chris Walker, Kenzie and Kaliyah of Osakis, Holly (Jason) Tegels, Josiah and Jazmyn of Sauk Centre, Heidi Duncan of Fargo, ND, Rusty Duncan of Minot, ND and Jesse (Amy) Duncan and Ian of Savage, Tanya (Everett) Ligtenberg and Bryston of Miles City, MT, Mike (Shanda) Anderson, Ashlen, Hailey, Peyton, Samantha and Madilyn of Forsyth, MT, Jamie (Jeron) Buchholz, Katrina, Jordan and Parker of Brandon, Kimberly Anderson of Alexandria, Tracy (Cimmeron) Gahm, Hailey and Kenzie of Morris, Cody (Alli) Anderson of Battle Lake, Katie (Alex Mehs) Anderson of Northwood, ND, Allison (Landon) Neuleib of Rothsay, Emily (Ken Martin) Riestenberg of Fergus Falls, Laura (Derek) Driessen of St. Leo and Kayla Riestenberg of Fergus Falls; and by numerous relatives and friends. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Christ and Inga Johnson.

Memorial Service: 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Trefoldighed Lutheran Church of rural Battle Lake.
Visitation: Monday, March 16th from 5 to 7 pm with a Prayer Service at 7 pm at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home
