Lucille Lindblom, 87, of Fergus Falls, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls.
Lucille Louise Rix was born on May 9, 1927 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Lloyd and Jennie (Zimmer) Rix. She grew up in Aastad Township and attended school at District 118. After receiving her education, she worked at Scott's Dime Store in Fergus Falls at the lunch counter.
While attending a dance in Foxhome, Lucille met Harold Lindblom, and they were later married on September 14, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Lucille and Harold were blessed with four sons.
Lucille worked with Harold in the family's construction business, assisting with painting and staining. Most of all, Lucille cherished the time she was able to spend at home raising her children.
In her spare time, Lucille enjoyed gardening, camping with grandchildren, walking, and baking, known especially for her cupcakes and blueberry desert. She and Harold enjoyed winters in Arizona and attended many dances over their forty-five years of marriage. Lucille was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, homemakers, Hope Lutheran Church, and Women of Hope.
Lucille is survived by her four sons, Donald (Janice) of Fergus Falls, Gene (Kathie) of Fergus Falls, Bruce (Leslie) of Fergus Falls, and Barry (Kari) of Pelican Rapids; grandchildren, Peder, Guy (Vivian), Kimberly (fiancé Trever Masters), Denise (Ben) Christenson, David (Jessica), Darin, Danielle, Sarah, Desta (Ben) Sillerud, John, Samantha Sapa, and Sean Sapa; two siblings, Bill Rix of Fergus Falls and Mabel Ehnert of New York Mills; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Rix of Fergus Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold on October 1, 1992; a brother, Ervin Rix; and a sister, Pearl Johnson.
Visitation: 4 – 6 PM Monday, with a 6 PM Prayer Service, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, and one hour prior to services at the church.
