Lucielle Ahlfs

Lucille Ahlfs, 78 of Fergus Falls died Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Lake Region Hospital .

Lucille Eleanore Ahlfs was born November 23, 1931 in Deer Creek , MN to Joseph and Evelyn Ahlfs. She attended school through the 9 ^th grade in New York Mills. Lucy lived on the family farm until age 47 when she moved to Fergus Falls .

In 1979 Lucy attended the Productive Alternatives Center and completed their workshop training program. She was hired as a Green Thumb Worker at the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center in the Laundry and Food Service Departments. Lucy retired in 1994 after 15 years of dedicated service.

Lucy enjoyed playing cards, bingo, puzzles, shopping, going to the library, animals and listening to books on tape. She greatly appreciated her weekly visits by her senior companion. She was a supporter of the Ottertail County Humane Society, State Services for the Blind and the Fergus Falls Library.

She was a resident of the Springen House owned by Midwest Home Health at the time of her death.

Lucy is survived by James (Patricia) Ahlfs, Joanne (David) Heine, Dennis (Brenda) Ahlfs and Larry (Joan) Ahlfs.

Private family services will be held at a later date with burial at Oak Hills Cemetery , Deer Creek , MN . Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls is in charge of arrangements.
