Lois Larson

July 25, 1935 — January 4, 2020

Evansville

Lois Nathalie (Anderson) Larson, 84, of Evansville, passed away unexpectantly on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at her residence in Evansville, Minnesota.

Lois was born on July 25, 1935, in the farmhouse near Brandon, Minnesota, the daughter of Robert and Jennie Anderson.  She attended Evansville High School graduating in 1953. In addition to school activities, she was involved in 4-H.  She especially loved showing her Guernsey cattle.

On September 11th, 1954, Lois married Ronald Larson of Evansville.  They shared almost 63 years and raised 3 daughters.  Following Ron’s time in the Army, they moved to Anoka.  In 1960 they moved to Evansville and farmed on Lois’s home dairy farm.   They milked cows for 22 years and farmed for over 40 together.   Lois & Ron were equal partners in all aspects of farm life.  For a time they lived on a lake where Lois loved hearing the loons call every summer.  Later they moved to Ron’s home farm for the remainder of their years.   Not only was Lois active on the farm but she also enjoyed working multiple years at Andes Tower Hills. Later, part time at Anderson Florist, where her flowers and plants were more than her salary.  She was also active in Church especially with the Covenant Women. At the Senior Center and served proudly on the Gardonville Board for 21 years.

Lois’s interests included her love of gardening, which she loved to share with others.  Scrapbooking, attending her Grand kids activities with joy, and watching the Twins and the Vikings.  Lois was a stoic Swede and proud of being 100% Swede.   She was always known to get the details done right in all jobs.  She loved to entertain and to always keep in touch with friends and family.  Traveling was another special time for her, whether with Ron in the truck for work or for fun.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Jennie Anderson; husband, Ronald in 2017; sister, Ruby (DeWayne) Anderson; sister-in-law, Lorraine (Richard) Stewart and brothers-in-law, Harold (Hyde) Larson, Dennis (Judy) Larson and Rudy Johnson; niece, Dawn Stuart and special nephews, Brad Larson and Keith Anderson.

She is survived by daughter, Shelley (Gary) Suckow of Brandon and children, Stacy (Cory) Biss and their children Trenton and Kolton, Grant (Robynn Nehl) Plessner and their children, Kahlyn and Kaisley and Gabbie Plessner; daughter, Sherry (Vince) Decker of Long Prairie and children, Brittany (Jason) Maus and their child, Jack, Stefanie (Allen) Hassler and their children, Kiefer and Finley, Julie (Jerry) Brittain and Randy Decker; daughter, Jill (Brad) O’Brien of Alexandria and their children, Ashley and Kaylee (Jack); sisters-in-law, Janice Johnson, Wanda (Marvin) Rosten, and Beverly (Don) Copher along with numerous relatives and friends.
