Leonard Wesley Jacobson was born on September 5, 1925 in Luck,
Wisconsin
the son of Axel and Dorothy (Peterson) Jacobson. He was baptized and confirmed in the
Luck
Lutheran
Church
and graduated from the
Luck
High School
in 1944. Leonard served with the U.S. Army Engineers for two years, was discharged then called back to serve in the Korean War.
Leonard and Irene Marie Callander were married on May 12, 1951 in the
St. Paul
Lutheran
Church
in
St. Paul
,
Minnesota
. While in the Army, they spent two years in
Colorado
, and after his discharge they moved to
Minneapolis
, then
Melrose
, and then in 1970 they moved to
Fergus
Falls
. Leonard was employed with NATRO Gas Co. of St. Paul for fifteen years. Leonard then purchased his own truck, first hauling L.P. Gas for Mid-America Dairy he then leased his truck on with Suburban Gas Co. who he hauled for until his retirement in 1991. He was a longtime member of the Classic Car Club and Leonard also enjoyed hunting.
Leonard is survived by his sister, Nona Eliason of
Fridley
; one niece, Lynn Eliason Andrea of
Vadnais
Heights
; one nephew, Douglas Eliason of
Andover
; two sisters-in-law, Louise (Don) Jacobson of Minneapolis and Virginia (Ray) Sward of Grasston and a brother-in-law, Russell (Donna) Callander of Mora.
Leonard is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene on December 3, 2003 and by their son, Gerald in 1993.
