It is with profound sadness that we announce Laura Catherine Findorff-Norberg, age 67, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Laura was born on December 31, 1957, in Minneapolis, MN, to Robert and Jocelyn Findorff. Her parents were celebrating New Year’s Eve when Jocelyn unexpectedly went into labor, and her father often joked that she was the “perfect tax deduction” for that year.
A proud graduate of Edina West High School, Class of 1976, Laura went on to attend the University of Minnesota, Morris, where she earned dual degrees in Psychology and Sociology. Following graduation, she began her professional journey with National Car Rental, however she later returned to school to pursue Information Technology. This led her to a successful career as an IT Project Manager and IT Programmer Analyst at National Car Rental, Best Buy, and Accenture.
It was at National Car Rental that Laura met the love of her life, Douglas Norberg. The two were joyously married on August 22, 1987, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Edina, MN. They made their home in Burnsville, MN, where they built their lives together for 34 memorable years and raised two daughters. Laura filled their home with warmth, love, and laughter. In her later years, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of living by the water, dividing her time between Minnesota and Florida.
Laura was the light that brightened every room — vibrant, kind, and deeply empathetic. She was the steady heartbeat and glue that held our family together. Laura loved her family and friends wholeheartedly, and the people in her life meant everything to her. She found joy in bringing everyone together, organizing gatherings, and welcoming others into her home. She loved spending time at the lake and cruising on her pontoon, walking on the beach in Florida, traveling to new places, and experiencing life’s adventures. Laura enjoyed her book club, Bunco nights, and time spent gardening. She had a wonderful laugh and a radiant smile that made everyone feel special. One of the last things she told her family was that she wanted us all to be happy.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jocelyn Findorff and her brothers Rob Findorff and Paul Findorff. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Douglas Norberg, her children Stephanie (Nick) Enderle and Monica Norberg, her grandchildren Hannah Enderle and Jackson Enderle; her siblings Jean Findorff, Mary Findorff (Alan Peterson), Karl (Cindy) Findorff and John (Nancy) Findorff. She is also survived by many other family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11 AM at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church, 15456 Co Hwy 81, Battle Lake, MN 56515. Visitation to begin one hour before the ceremony at 10 AM. We are asking loved ones to wear bright colors to honor Laura’s love for life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society to support breast cancer research.
Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
