Jolaine Hustad

Jolaine Hustad, 81, of Fergus Falls died Thursday, November 2, 2017, at her home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

Jolaine LaVonne Hustad was born on April 10, 1936, in Battle Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Olaf and Opal (Rovig) Thorstenson.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Trefoldighed Lutheran Church.  Jolaine graduated from the Battle Lake High School in 1954, and continued her education for one year with the Interstate Business College in Fargo.

Jolaine and Earl Hustad were married on October 25, 1958, in the Trefoldighed Lutheran Church.  After their marriage they lived on their farm south of Battle Lake.  Jolaine was employed one year with the First National Bank in Fargo and later worked for ten and half years with the First National Bank in Battle Lake.  She then was a supper cook, first for the Ashby Nursing Home for thirteen years then with Park Gardens in Fergus Falls.  In her retirement, she enjoyed being a Volunteer Senior Companion in Fergus Falls.

Jolaine was a member of the Trofoldighed Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Group where she held various offices, and enjoyed reading.  After moving off the farm, Earl and Jolaine lived sixteen years on Lakeshore Drive in Battle Lake, before moving into Fergus Falls in 2005.  Earl and Jolaine enjoyed wintering in Yuma, Arizona.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; daughter, Jodi (Ken) Harms of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Randy (Mary) Hustad of Roseville; four grandchildren, Kayla, Kortney and Krissa Bangs and Phillip Harms; and brother, Marlo (Marilyn) Thorstenson of Adams.  Jolaine was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Opal Thorstenson and by one sister, Leila Herzog in 2006.

Funeral Services:  11 AM on Monday, November 6, 2017, at Trefoldighed Lutheran Church, rural Battle Lake.

Visitation: Sunday from 4 to 7 PM with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
