Jakimba Macheel

JaKimba (Kimber) Macheel passed away unexpectedly at her home December 31, 2025.

Kimber was born April 10, 1979, in Fargo, ND, at St. Luke’s hospital to Ethel (Tiny) Macheel and Joe Macheel. Kimber spent her early years in Wahpeton, ND, and attended St. John’s Catholic School. Kimber relocated to Fergus Falls, MN at the age of 10 and attended Fergus Falls Public Schools where she later got her GED.

Kimber grew up with an appreciation for learning and creativity. She continued her education at M-State Fergus Falls, where she earned an Associate of Arts degree. An avid reader, she often immersed herself in books. She had a deep love for movies and television. Entertainment was one of her greatest joys. Kimber also loved trivia and collected various Trivial Pursuits. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, games, and baking.

Kimber had many jobs throughout the years. Her favorites involved working in the kitchen and preparing wonderful meals. Kimber was known for her baking and was asked to bake at every holiday. She was a hard and dedicated worker. She would stay overtime and pick up shifts when needed. Her last job was at Park Gardens Senior Living, which she adored. Every time she came home, there was always a smile and delicious food from the kitchen.

When she wasn’t at work, she was at home with her niece and the family pets. Kimber was an animal lover and constantly buying new toys or treats for the pets. She also enjoyed going to concerts, any casino, and Trivia nights in town with friends and family. Wherever Kimber went, there were always smiles and laughter that followed.

Kimber was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel (Tiny) Macheel. She leaves behind her father, Joe Machee; Sisters: Megan Olsen, Joely (Chad) Valentine, Jacinta (Jeff) Zens, Javinya Macheel; Nephew: Ben Olsen; Nieces: Sarah Olsen, and Xyola Holm.

Kimber was loved by many. Her smile, humor, compassion, kindness, and intelligence will live on by those who knew her. She will be dearly missed by many.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, January 22 at Federated Church in Fergus Falls, MN. With visitation starting at 10am. Service will start at 11am followed by lunch. Streaming is also available at https://federatedff.org/
