Harold O. Weiss

Harold Oscar Weiss Jr, 66, of Erhard, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at his home after a long fight with cancer.

 

Harold was born April 29,1956 at Pelican Hospital in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota to Harold and Inez (Swenson) Weiss. He came home to Erhard and attended Erhard Grove Country School then Pelican Rapids Public School where he graduated. He married Judy Wahl. They had 2 children Tammy Lynn and Charles. They later divorced. He met Kim (Janu), she had 2 children, Misty and Virginia. They dated for 11 years, marrying on March 15, 1997. The family moved to Erhard, where they have lived for 25 years.

 

Harold was a truck driver for more than 30 years. Working for various trucking companies until he bought his own truck. He hauled grain for a few years before buying another truck and leasing to Golden Ring trucking in Fergus Falls.

 

Harold loved being outdoors and participated in many activities including racing and volunteering at the John Beargrease Sled Dog Race, Mid Minnesota Sled Dog Run and Wolf Track Classic. He collected and used International Harvester tractors, trucks and other IH items and would attend/show part of his collection at various tractor/threshing shows. He liked to keep his tractors as he found them. He liked to snowshoe, cross country ski, collected vintage snowmobiles and loved to fish summer and winter.

 

He lived for deer hunting and canoeing in the Boundary Waters. September and October were his favorite times to be there as there were not so many people then.

 

Harold liked his animals- Bo Opal, Spencer (his goats), Keyo (dog) and faithful companion and his birds at the feeders.

 

Harold and Kim started and operated a greenhouse and sold vegetables off the farm for 20 years. He liked to work the soil and smell the flowers.

 

Harold is survived by his wife Kim, 2 children Tammy Weiss and Charles and (Holly) Weiss; 2 stepchildren children Misty (Dan) Gustafson, Virginia (Shannon) Colsen; 7 grandchildren Kelsey, Emily, Jordan, Skylar, Garrett, Indiana and Sierra; a sister, Penny (Jim) Davis; sister-in-law Cindy Weiss, niece Nicole, and 2 nephews Alec and Brett.

           
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Inez Weiss and brother Tom Weiss.

 

Celebration of Life:11 am Friday, November 11 at Grace Lutheran Church, Erhard with visitation 1 hour prior to service.
