George Aase, age 89, of Fergus Falls, died on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Alcott Manor.
George Aase was born on September 14, 1928 to George and Caroline Aase in Brooklyn, NY. He attended elementary school in Brooklyn & Norway, and graduated from Fort Hamilton High School, Brooklyn NY. In 1952 he married Alice Helgesen and together they had 3 children, Allen (Carol) Aase, Barbara Olsen, and Linda (Kevin) Patch. George attended Shelton College and graduated from Lutheran Brethren Seminary in 1953. George served churches in Maddock, ND, Bunker Hill, NJ, Bloomington, MN, Brooklyn, NY, and Succasunna, NJ. In 1989 he retired from full time ministry and became the Chaplain at Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center, Mt Bethel, PA. He served as the secretary for the Church of the Lutheran Brethren for many years and was an avid Yankee fan. His greatest joy was serving the Lord in ministry and he will be greatly missed.
George is survived by his wife and children, grandchildren Kristen Olsen, Becky (Bo) Miller, Kelley (Tom) Scheid, Larissa (Hans) Brue, Cooper Patch and great grandchildren Evan Olsen, Ashton Olsen Fawcett, George Olsen, Wyatt & Wesley Miller, Macie, Carter & Mia Scheid.
Memorials are preferred to Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center, 3300 River Road, Mt. Bethel, PA 18343.
Visitation: 5 to 7 PM Sunday, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral Service: 11 AM Monday, February 26, 2018, at Bethel Lutheran Church, Fergus Falls.
Clergy: Rev. Ed Monson will officiate.
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls at a later date.
