Frances E. Winans was born March 26, 1927, the 15
th
child to James N. Winans and Ida May Carrier of Fergus Falls.
The Lord called her to her eternal home on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at the age of 83 years.
Frances
spent her early childhood as a resident of the Faribult (MN)
State
Hospital
learning child care and housekeeping duties.
She attended school there and developed musical skills in voice and piano.
She was also gifted in yodeling, and the mimicking of wild bird sounds.
Following discharge, she worked as a housekeeper at Lake Park Wild Rice Children’s Home in
Fergus
Falls
, and served in this capacity for over 25 years.
In addition, she worked at various restaurants.
Frances
was a popular and colorful personality known to many in the community.
With the support of Human Services, and the love of her many friends, she led and independent life.
Her life was a demonstration which provides mankind a sterling example of joyful and successful living even in the face of challenges and limitations.
It was the professional care and love of Diane and Randy Baurer of The Christine House which enabled her to enjoy the final months of her life in a home setting.

Church
in
Fergus
Falls
where she worshiped her Lord regularly.
She will be laid to rest at
Knollwood
