Euna Nelson, 86 of Evansville died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Evansville Care Center.

Euna Gwendolyn Nelson was born June 27, 1928 to Arthur G. and Tena (Carlson) Nelson in rural Evansville. She was baptized and confirmed in Evansville. Euna graduated from Evansville High School in 1946 and was the Valedictorian of her class. She also graduated from the secretarial training program at the Minneapolis Business College and Augsburg College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in commercial education and music in 1950. For the next six years Euna taught business and music in the public schools of Hoffman, Osakis, Sleepy Eye and Litchfield. She then worked as an executive secretary at Gould, Inc. in St. Paul for 7 years; and retired from Mayo Clinic/Mayo Foundation, Rochester in 1990 after 27 years. Euna returned to Evansville in 1992.

Euna was an active member of Calvary Covenant Church, Evansville. She served as organist for many years and participated in women's activities. Euna loved her flowers and gardening.

Euna is survived by her sister, Delores Richter; nine nieces and nephews and their families and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Winston and Irene, Dennis and Ardis; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Ed Crooks; and brother-in-law, Ted Richter.

No funeral service will be held

Visitation: 4-7 pm, Sunday, March 22, 2015, Glende-Nilson Funeral Chapel in Evansville

Interment: 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 23, 2015 at Mound Grove Cemetery, Evansville, MN
