Eleanor Jante

Eleanor Jante, 80 of Evansville died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria .

Eleanor Hulda Jante was born July 30, 1929, in Miltona Township , Douglas County, Minnesota to William and Mary (Witte) Krause. She was baptized September 8, 1928, by Rev. E.J. Dreyer and confirmed June 13, 1943 at St Paul ’s Lutheran Church of West Miltona by Rev. E.J. Dreyer. Eleanor attended grade school at Dist. No. 55 in Miltona and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1947.

Eleanor was united in marriage to Harvey Jante on May 16, 1948 at St. Paul ’s Lutheran Church of West Miltona, MN. They lived and farmed in Millerville Township .

Eleanor became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Evansville on April 10, 1949, which later merged into Faith Lutheran Church . She enjoyed reading, gardening, and family gatherings with children, grandchildren and relatives.

She is survived by daughters Eileen (John) Olson of Plymouth, Shirley (William) Parish of Rosemount; Son, David (Darlene) Jante of Evansville; eight grandchildren, Michael (Ann), Jennifer, Julie (Todd), James (Cheryl), Lisa, Carl (Carrie), Susan and Kevin; 4 great grandchildren, Aiden, Andrew, D.J., and Evan; sisters Alvina Faber of Miltona and Esther Faber of Alexandria; and one sister-in-law Ruth Krause of Miltona.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Harvey March 17, 1995, her parents and brother Lawrence Krause of Parkers Prairie.
