Eldora Braun

Eldora Braun, 92, of Fergus Falls, left this life on Thursday, April 4, 2019. She was born March 31, 1927 in St. Ignatius, MT to Marius and Mamie (Biery) Sorensen and preceded in death by her parents, brother Earl, and sisters Evelyn Carrow and Ethel Rhodes. Eldora was a resident of the Erhard/Fergus Falls area for most of her life since 1932.

She was married to Clifford Grant from 1948 to 1974. Their marriage produced four children: Steven (deceased), Terry (Laura), Jackie (Dante Grandi Jr. deceased), and Jennifer (Larry Sillanpa), four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

She married Knute Braun in 1974, and they lived in Fergus Falls until his death in 2011.

She was employed by Lutheran Social Services Senior Nutrition Program in Fergus Falls as the revered head cook for 20 years and then volunteered for 23 more years. Eldora was instrumental in starting Meals on Wheels in Duluth while she lived there.

She was a voracious reader, a cat fancier, a crossword puzzle fanatic, and you knew better than to call or come over when her beloved Alex Trebek and Jeopardy were entertaining/educating her. Her wit, sense of humor, sarcasm, and sharp tongue will be missed by all.

Eldora and her family would like to extend special thank yous to her great nephew Paul Nelson and his wife, Dawn, of Dalton, MN as well as her neighbors, Tim Gadow and Kevin Bartels for their support and care.

Memorial Service: 3:00 PM Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, with visitation one hour prior to services.Interment: Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Fergus Falls
