Danny E. Kvenvolden, age 79, of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, passed away on April 21, 2026.
Danny was born on July 10, 1946, in Detroit Lakes, MN to Kermit and Iona Kvenvolden. He attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1964. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Moorhead State University in 1968.
Danny began his professional career at Otter Tail Power Company, where he dedicated more than 30 years of service before retiring at the age of 57. Beyond his career, he was deeply committed to his community. He was a member of the Elks and served on the Fergus Falls City Council for more than 15 years.
An avid outdoorsman, Danny enjoyed hunting and was an active member of Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever. He also loved attending auctions, always on the lookout for a good deal and a new treasure. Above all, Danny cherished his family and friends. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren—both during visits to Washington State and at many family breakfasts at the Viking Café.
Danny is survived by his children from his marriage to Lois Windom: Patricia Smith (Anthony), Andrew Kvenvolden (Rebecca), and Joel Kvenvolden (Rebecca Wiesenberg); his grandchildren: Eon Smith, Alexandra Smith (James Washburn), Gabriel Smith, Odin Kvenvolden, Alexander Kvenvolden (Aleah), Nikolas Kvenvolden (Haiden Winkelman), Chloe Kvenvolden, Annabeth Kvenvolden, Leif Kvenvolden, Elliot Kvenvolden, and Asher Kvenvolden; great-grandchildren: Cameron Kvenvolden, Andrew “Drew” Kvenvolden, and Daniel “Danny” Kvenvolden; his siblings: Mike Kvenvolden (Carol), Kevin Kvenvolden, and Jayne Bisson; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Kermit and Iona Kvenvolden.
