Craig Alan Quinn, 70, of Evansville, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital.
Craig was born on October 22, 1954, in Algona, Iowa, to Lester and Pauline (Wydert) Quinn. He was confirmed at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Brandon and attended Evansville Public Schools, graduating from Evansville High School in 1972. Following his graduation, he married Marcia Johnson. He farmed with his father from an early age and passed his love for the land and farming to his children and grandchildren. His grandson now lives at the farm, being the 4th generation to do so.
On August 19, 1989, Craig married Denise Fjeld at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Blaine, Minnesota. Craig demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for his community throughout his life. He learned the art of meat cutting while working at the Brandon Grocery. In 1988, he purchased the Evansville Meat Market and several years later opened the Evansville Bottle Shop. In 2007, he sold the meat market to his son Blake and his family, passing his love for the trade to them.
In 2016, Craig began working for Odyssey Steel in Brandon, where he built friendships with fellow workers and "contractor buddies".
He was a dedicated member of the Evansville Fire Department and First Responders, serving his community for many years before retiring. Being the movie buff he was, Craig always enjoyed relaxing with a beer and watching one of his many entertainment selections. Outside of work, he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
Craig is survived by his wife of 35 years, Denise (Fjeld) Quinn; his children, Darrin (Renae), Taylor (Darryl), Amber (Levi) Dargis, Blake (Jennie), and Brittany (Breanna) Nelson; seven grandchildren: Courtney (Derrick) Pearson, Skyler (Paiton) Quinn, Madison (Matt) Quinn, Ruby, Simon, Dallas, and Ivy Quinn; and two great-grandsons, Dominic and Colton Pearson. He is also survived by siblings Sharon Kolle, Gary (Eme) Quinn, and Lester Quinn; sisters-in-law Dawn Peterson and Lynette (Gordy) Rohloff; brothers-in-law Terry and Jay Fjeld; and many other extended family members and friends.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Pauline Quinn; two brothers-in-law, Henry Jacobson and Rodney Kolle; his sister-in-law, Kathy Quinn; and his great-grandson, Abel Pearson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Faith Lutheran Church in Evansville, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
Craig will be remembered as a caring, loving, soft-hearted man, who never met a stranger.
