Corinne Berglund

Corinne Berglund, 86, of Evansville, died Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at the Evansville Care Campus.

Corinne Helen Mae Lystrom was born on May 13, 1931 in Leaf Mountain Township, OtterTail County, Minnesota, the daughter of Rudolph and Hazel (Palm) Lystrom.  She was baptized at Grue Lutheran Church, rural Ashby, MN, and graduated in 1950 from Evansville High School.

On June 30, 1950, Corinne married Alton C. Berglund at Grue Lutheran Church, and they were blessed with five children.

Following their marriage, the couple lived in Colorado and California while Alton served in the Navy, returning to the family farm in Lund Township in 1957.  Over the years, Corinne was instrumental in assisting with the family farming operation and raising her family.  Upon Alton’s death in 1985, Corinne continued to live on and assist with the farming operation, until July of 1996.

In retirement, Corinne remained on the farm until 2001, when she moved into Evansville.  In October of 2009, Corinne became a resident of the Evansville Care Campus, where she has resided since.

Corinne enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, cooking, gardening, canning, and playing bingo.  A longtime member of Christina Lake Lutheran Church, she served as financial secretary and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Ashby.  An avid sports fan, Corinne went to many sporting events, especially when her children and grandchildren were playing.

She is survived by her five children, Craig (Cathy) Berglund of Evansville, Jodi (Joe) Dehmer of Eagan, MN, Dana (Terry) Strese of Evansville, Carla Berglund-Bennett (Johann Jaynes) of Buffalo, Wyoming, and Ross (Lynette) Berglund of Evansville; grandchildren, Terra Berglund, Leah Berglund, Austin (Alex) Isakov, Megan Strese, Heather Strese, James Strese, Robert Snyder, Deirdre Finkelson, Erika (Derek) McIver, and Jeffrey Berglund; great-grandchildren, Carter, Lennon, Quinton, Callie, Susie, Mercedes, Xander, Faith, and Brian; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Corinne was preceded in death by her husband, Alton; and a brother, Palmer Lystrom (Connie Propst); and a sister-in-law, Doris Lystrom.

Visitation:  5 – 7 PM Thursday, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Evansville, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Funeral Service:  11 AM Friday, December 15, 2017, at Christina Lake Lutheran Church, rural Evansville
