Caroline Jennen

Caroline Jennen, 94 of Fergus Falls passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Broen Memorial Home, Fergus Falls .

Caroline Catherine Jennen was born February 25, 1916 to John and Paulina (Gebauer) Obowa in Rib Lake , WI . She grew up in Bismarck , ND and Fergus Falls , graduating from Fergus Falls High School in 1936. Caroline was confirmed at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls . She was united in marriage to Cyril Imholte in 1941. To this union one daughter, Marie was born. The couple made their home in Fergus Falls where Caroline was employed at Montgomery Ward. Cyril passed away on February 17, 1954. She was employed at the ASCS office in Fergus Falls in the late 1950's. In 1960 she was united in marriage to Jules Jennen. To this union one son, Jerome, was born. The couple made their home in Fergus Falls . Jules passed away April 22, 1972. Caroline continued to make her home in Fergus Falls . She became a resident of Broen Memorial Home in January 2010.

Caroline was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, The Catholic Daughters of America and St. Robert's Mission . She enjoyed sewing, woodworking, rug braiding, gardening, making quilts and dresses for missions, picking strawberries and canning. She especially enjoyed camping trips with her grandchildren.

Caroline is survived by daughter, Marie Fronning of Fergus Falls; son, Jerome (Janice) Jennen of Fergus Falls; step-children, Robert (Anita) Jennen, Richard (Marlys) Jennen, Virgil (Jeanne) Jennen and Beverly (Ben) Alm; 8 grandchildren, Mark Fronning, Mabeth (Russell) Kudrna, Michael (Lisa) Fronning, Mallory (Shelly) Fronning, Mathew (Marice) Fronning, Adrion Jennen, Jacob Jennen, Laura Jennen: 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Gertrude Obowa of Fergus Falls and Rosalie Gabrys of Duluth; brother Louis (Virginia) Obowa of Fergus Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 2 brothers, Joe Obowa and Frank Obowa; 4 step-children, Dan Jennen, Marion Gould, Juliet Stumble and Jules Jennen, Jr.; and son-in-law, Maynard Fronning.
