Carol Westgard, 75 of rural Battle Lake died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at her home under the care of Lakeland Hospice.
Carol Ann Westgard was born on March 6, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Stanley and Marguerite (Schaffhausen) Wojcik. She was baptized and confirmed in the St. Agnes Catholic Church and graduated from the St. Agnes High School in 1961.
Carol married Robert Westgard on April 20, 1963, in St. Agnes Catholic Church in St. Paul. After their marriage they lived in Roseville where Carol was a homemaker, taking care of her family. In 1993, Carol and Bob moved to their lake home on West Battle Lake. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, yard work, liked pull tabbing, wintering in Port Aransas, Texas and especially enjoyed her family and time at the lake. She was a member of Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in St. Paul and then Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two children, Robert Jr (Michelle) Westgard of Blaine and Jacqueline (James) Prigge of Buffalo; four grandchildren; Brian and Cory Westgard, Jason (Brittany) Prigge and Jennifer Prigge; one great-grandson, Austin James Prigge; one brother, Stanley Butch (Marilyn) Wojcik of Henning and by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Marguerite Wojcik and one brother, Robert Wojcik.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM, Monday, July 16, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Battle Lake.
Visitation: Sunday from 4 to 7 PM, with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service at Our Lady of the Lake Church and one hour prior to the Mass.
Clergy: Fr. LeRoy Schik
Interment: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery by Battle Lake.
Funeral Home: Glende-Nilson of Battle Lake.
