Carol Rian

Carol Rian, 80, passed away on March 26, 2026, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls, MN.

Carol Ann Rian was born on October 9, 1945, to Clifford and Clarice (Bredeson) Rian, in Fergus Falls, MN. A proud graduate of Fergus Falls High School, Carol furthered her education at Fergus Falls Junior College. She embarked on a fulfilling 34-year career at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, eventually retiring as an inventory reconciler with Qwest Communications. It was during this time she became a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Carol had a wide range of interests including traveling, reading, shopping, and cultivating a remarkable collection of rocks and gemstones. She enjoyed attending plays and musicals and was an avid fan of word puzzles, trivia, and bingo. Most importantly, Carol loved spending time, and going out to lunch, with the telephone ladies, friends, and cousins.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Clarice Rian. She is survived by her sister, Darlene Rian; and many cousins and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to the team at PioneerCare for their wonderful care of Carol.

As per Carol's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Burial at a later date will be held at St. Otto’s Cemetery. Arrangements with Glende-Nilson Funeral Home of Fergus Falls.
