Carol Harrington

Carol Jean Harrington, 88, of Fergus Falls, MN, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at PioneerCare in Fergus Falls. Born on October 26, 1936, in Fargo, ND, Carol was the daughter of James Patrick Kilbride and Regina (Vitt) Kilbride. After graduating from Fargo Central High School, she married William D. Harrington in 1957, and they were married 25 years.

Carol dedicated over 30 years of her life to serving as the Deputy Treasurer of Cass County, bringing her sharp mind and passion for numbers to her work every day.

Her creative spirit shone through her hobbies, which included quilting, sewing, and knitting. She had a special talent for crafting beautiful clothes for Barbie dolls that delighted her daughters and anyone who was lucky enough to see them.

Carol is survived by her children, Joan Harrington of Topeka, KS., Julie Steckler (John) and their son Jerome of Missoula, MT, and Craig Harrington and son Carter of Fergus Falls, MN. She also leaves behind her sister, Marlys Glirbus (Don) of Minneapolis, MN, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Shirley (Ted) Urbach, Arlene (Stan) Winters, Ken (Genelle) Kilbride, Joyce (Ron) Crepps, baby Donna, Janice (Pete) Olson and Gail (Wayne) Freeburg.

Carol will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo, ND.
