Carl Luginbill

Carl Luginbill, 83 of Battle Lake died Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Carl Allen Luginbill was born on September 20, 1934, in St. Joseph, Michigan the son of Alvin Willis and Mildred (Fennell) Luginbill.  He served in the US Air Force from February of 1953 to February of 1957, as an Airplane Mechanic stationed in Alaska and then Africa each for two years.

Carl and Kathryn Herzberg were married on November 18, 1984, in Grasston, Minnesota.  After their marriage they lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was employed as a mechanic working on heavy equipment.  In 2001, Carl and Kathy retired and moved to Battle Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; son, Dale from California; daughter, Darla from Washington; two step-daughters, Lisa Shimmin of Minneapolis and Kris (Larry) Rohrbach of Howard Lake; three grandchildren, Bradley Drouin of Minneapolis, Brienna Krenz of St. Paul and Rachelle (Josh) Joriman of Buffalo; one great-granddaughter, Nixie Lynn Krenz of St. Paul; five siblings, Leo Luginbill of Lake City, Florida, Mary Woods of Howe, Indiana, Alvin (Sharon) Luginbill of Phoenix, Arizona, Larry (Teresa) Luginbill of Pine City, Mn. and Beverly (Karl) Deis of Mora, Mn; and by numerous relatives and friends.  Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Mildred Luginbill; brother, Wayne Luginbill; and sister, Evelyn Andrews.

Visitation: Thursday, October 19, 2017, 9 AM to 11 AM at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM.

Celebrant: Mr. Gary Black

Interment: Grasston Union Cemetery, Grasston, Minnesota
