Beverly Runningen, 92, passed away surrounded by family on August 8, 2026 at the Ashby Living Center, Ashby, MN.
Beverly was born on July 13, 1934 in Underwood, MN, the first of eight children of Melvin and Amy (Hanson) Rindahl. Beverly was baptized at Grue Lutheran Church, confirmed in Folden Lutheran Church and graduated from Battle Lake High School in 1952.
Beverly and Darel Runningen were married on March 8, 1953 at Grue Lutheran Church of rural Ashby, Minnesota. They lived in the Battle Lake area until the last three years Beverly lived at the Ashby Living Center.
In the early years, Beverly was a homemaker while raising her family and worked in Avon sales. Beverly was employed with the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center as an activity director for 21 years until her retirement. Beverly treasured spending time with her family. She looked forward to family gatherings for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and all the milestone celebrations. Beverly enjoyed sharing her gift of music with others throughout her life. Beverly also enjoyed gardening, reading, camping, going for pontoon rides and traveling. Beverly was fortunate enough to spend a few years wintering in Arizona with family and making new friends. Beverly was an active member of the Grue Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her three daughters; Denise (Art) Norberg, Battle Lake, Debra (David) Schiele, Underwood, DiaAnn (Jim) Quinn, Green Bay, WI, Son, Lee (Linda) Runningen, Eloy, AZ, daughter-in-law, Dianne Runningen; Clitherall, twelve grandchildren, Cory Runningen, Heidi (Mike Mettenburg) Runningen, Cody (Janella Aitchison) Norberg, Chelsey (Jimmy McDonald) Norberg, Darin (Mallary) Schiele, Stacy (Anthony) Spaeth, Erica (Justin) Smith, Erin (Mike Loepp) Runningen, Andrew (Autumn Arch) Quinn, Jason (Megan) Quinn, Marcus Quinn, Jaida (Aaron Mason) Gough, fourteen great grandchildren; Jonathan, soon to be Baby Norberg, Elowen, Colton, Hannah, Mckenzie, Will, Kolby, Kaleb, Violet, Scarlett, Gracie, Charli, Hunter and Ryleigh, one sister; Mavis Fosse of Staples, MN and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Bruce Runningen, two brothers, Larry and Dennis, four sisters, Romayne, Phyllis, Donna, and Arlene.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday August 13, 2026 at Grue Lutheran Church, rural Ashby, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment: Grue Lutheran Cemetery, Ashby, MN
