Betty Jane Jacobs, 90, of rural Henning went to be with the Lord on Thursday Feb.12 surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born in Moscow Id, on Sept.10, 1935 to Virgil and Annie Means. They later relocated to Spokane, WA. Betty and Marvin were joined in matrimony on June 9th, 1956, in Spokane Washington, shortly after they headed to Minnesota to start their life together. They worked on their dairy farm in Aurdal Township, until 1967. They moved to their farm in Sverdrup Township where they raised their 4 children. In 1987, after moving to their home in rural Henning they retired from farming. Betty then worked in housekeeping at the Best Western in Fergus Falls. And later at Super 8 in Alexandria.

She took great joy in her grandchildren. She would patiently sit and tell stories and teach them new things. Betty enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and making sweet treats for her loved ones, especially her donuts. She was a very creative individual. She was certified in repairing porcelain dolls that she would find at flea markets. Betty used her seamstress skills to make clothes and dolls. She made every holiday special. Betty was defi nitely one of a kind. She was thoughtful and kind, sponsoring children around the world.

Betty is survived by her four children, Kenneth (Peggy) Jacobs of Wadena, Paul (Kathy) Jacobs of Ashby, Corrina (Bruce) Grage of Fergus Falls and Tim (Sue) Jacobs of Bluegrass; grandchildren and families, Chris (Shelly) Jacobs, Cody, Caleb, Kloe and Alissa, Joel (Jennifer) Jacobs, Tristen (Hanna), Colton (Maddy), Grace and Annabelle, Cassi (Brandon) Benson, Emma, Benjamin and Elizabeth, Kelly, Kinsley and Amelia Besco, Dylan, Kyndra and Taylor Synstelien , Melissa, Zachary, Nicholas, Isaac and Ryan Jacobs, Jessica (Tony) Olson, Brody, Madisyn and Jayce, Kate Jacobs, Annabelle, Nevaeh, Weston, Braxton, and Lainey; expected first great-great grandchild; and by many family and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; parents, Virgil and Annie Means; grandson, Michael Jacobs; granddaughters, Heather Synstelien and Shyanne Jacobs; brother, Fred Means and by her sister, Wanda Stearns.

A private burial service is planned with family

A memorial service will take place at a later date in June.

Interment at Trinity Cemetery in Fergus Falls, MN.
