Betty Ann Audrey Hogan (Reusch), age 82, of Battle Lake (formerly of Coon Rapids), Minnesota, passed away on April 24, 2026, at her home in Battle Lake.
She was born on September 13, 1942, in Antler, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Milton and Audrey Reusch.
Betty Ann was a loving mother and grandmother. Over the years, she wore many hats: devoted wife, homemaker, and dependable “taxi driver” to her children. She lived the way she made things: resourceful, original, and entirely her own.
Independent and strong-willed, she trusted her instincts and quietly rewrote expectations. What others overlooked, she reimagined, scraps into something useful, leftovers into something gourmet, fabric into costumes and clothing. Her creativity wasn’t for show; it was simply how she moved through the world.
A voracious reader who also cherished a good nap, she understood both curiosity and rest. She found joy in small acts, gardening, decorating cakes, crafting bonbons, and in moments of freedom, dancing to Pink. Quick-witted, funny, practical, and at once private and social, she gave generously, often through quiet, heartfelt conversations that mattered more than they seemed. Her life leaves a simple, lingering question: what might we create if we saw possibility the way she did?
She is survived by her children: Michael, Joseph (Myrtelle), James (Lynn), and BethAnn; Grandchildren: Michaela Audrey, Kaisa, Markus, Callen, Mattisse, and Alvin; brother, William Reusch; sister, Lynda Medenwaldt; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; daughter, Maureen; parents, Milton and Audrey Reusch; and brother, James Reusch.
A visitation and celebration of life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home, 102 S. Lincoln Avenue, Battle Lake, MN 56515.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
