Bernard "Bernie" Schuetze

Bernard Schuetze, 79, of Fergus Falls, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. There will be a memorial service in his honor at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls. There will be a visitation one hour 1 hour prior. Burial to follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, Fergus Falls.

Bernard Henry Schuetze was born on February 18, 1947, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to John and Helen (Schulte) Schuetze. He grew up in Fergus Falls, and was a 1965 graduate of Fergus Falls High School.

On March 18, 1972, Bernie was united in marriage to Constance Cole at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The couple would be blessed with one son, Michael.

Throughout the years Bernie was employed by Mill Street Service and National Bushing. After he was retired, Bernie was a transport driver for Quality Toyota, transporting cars between dealerships.

Bernie enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting, but most of all he enjoyed visiting with others. He could be found with his coffee group at Perkins, with friends on Taco Tuesday, or possibly at Hardee’s in the mornings after he and Connie made their visit to the YMCA.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Constance; son, Michael (Tally) Schuetze; grandchildren, Kenzie and Nik; brothers, Richard (Marcy) Schuetze, Kenneth (Marjan) Schuetze; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Luis) Rios; brother-in-law, Clair Cole; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen; and his sister, Dorothy Schuetze.
