Barbara Loots, 70, of rural Battle Lake, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at Perham Health.
Barbara Winnifred Loots was born on March 25, 1944 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Robert and Winnifred (Casey) Huesman. She graduated from the Woodrow Wilson High School in St. Paul in 1962.
Barbara and James Loots were married on June 22, 1962 in St. Paul. After their marriage, they lived in St. Paul where Barbara worked two years for Curtis 1000. Barbara then was a homemaker raising her family. From 1997 to present, Barbara took care of the billing and insurance for her son Jim's dental practice.
In the fall of 2003, Barb and Jim moved to their home on West Battle Lake. She enjoyed baking, gardening both vegetable and flowers, cooking, going to casinos, garage sales, and she always loved dogs and liked raising her Yorkies. Barbara enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed her lake home loving Christmas decorating and cooking for the family during the holidays.
Barbara is survived by four children, Jim Jr. of Stillwater, Daniel (Heidi) of Roseville, Susan (Michael) Kieffer of Conway, AZ and Robert (Janelle) of Ottertail City; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Joseph, Johanna, Bryan, Jessica, Brian, Lisa and Nicholas; two sisters, Terrie (Steve) Fors of Missouri and Laurie (Bernie) Wegleitner of Roseville; one brother, Michael (Kathy) Huseman of St. Cloud; and by numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James on April 14, 2011 and by her parents, Robert and Winnifred Huseman.
Funeral Service: 3:00 pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Amor of rural Battle Lake.
Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the church
