Arlene Dillerud, 73, of rural Clitherall, Minnesota, died Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.
Arlene Marlas Dillerud was born on November 20, 1941 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Lawrence and Thora Brevig. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. At the age of thirteen, she moved with her family to Fergus Falls where she graduated from the Fergus Falls High School in 1959, then continued her education at the Fergus Falls Beauty School.
Arlene and Manley Dillerud were married on March 11, 1961 in Zion Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. After their marriage, they lived in the Minneapolis area, settling in Blaine. She worked as a beautician before starting many years as a photo tech for Minco Products in Fridley, retiring on January 1, 2000. In 2005, Arlene and Manley moved permanently to their lake home on West Battle Lake, wintering in Florida. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an adventurous person, and enjoyed hot air balloon and airplane rides. Arlene was a member of the Eagle Lake Lutheran Church and the Sons of Norway in Vining.
She is survived by her husband, Manley; two children, Debra (Mike) Wraalstad of Coon Rapids and Jeff Dillerud of Elk River; three grandchildren, Jennifer and Marissa Wraalstad and Madison Dillerud; and by many extremely close nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Thora Brevig and by one infant sister.
Memorials are preferred to the Fergus Falls Cancer Care and Research Center or the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Eagle Lake Lutheran Church, rural Battle Lake.
Visitation: Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM, with a Prayer Service at 8 PM, at the Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
