Alan Alfredson

Alan “Al” Vernon Alfredson, 70, of Battle Lake passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer in his home October 6th, 2023, under the care of his loved ones and Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Al was born in Fergus Falls to Clarice J (Pederson) and Emmet S. Alfredson. He grew up in Battle Lake and married the love of his life, Michelene “Mickie” Behl on December 3rd, 1999, and remained a resident of Battle Lake until his passing.

Al’s hobbies included hunting and fishing in “God’s Country”, sharing his love of music with loved ones, and Keno “...at the ‘Grand’...’. Al was heavily involved with his career in road construction as a driver until his retirement in June of 2014.

Al is survived by his wife Mickie, five children: Christine, Edward, George, Jennifer (Christopher Nelson), and Abigail, his grandchildren: Karissa, Noah, Maloree, Emma, Rain, Lily, Graycee, Elizabeth, and Liddia, his great-grandchildren: Cyril and Leo, and his sister, Shirley.

Al was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.

Celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 1-3 PM with a prayer service at 2:30 PM at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake, MN.

Burial following the service will be at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in Battle Lake, MN.
