Addie Olson

Addie Olson, 82, of Battle Lake died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Adelyn Judith Olson was born January 18, 1928, in Hatton , North Dakota to Oscar and Tillie (Tronson) Thorstad. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Hatton and graduated from Clifford High School at Clifford , North Dakota .

On June 2, 1949, she married Orville Olson at Norman Lutheran Church in Clifford. They moved to Fargo , ND where Addie was employed by St. John’s Hospital for 32 years. In 1984, they moved to Clitherall Lake in Minnesota . She volunteered and was later employed by the Battle Lake Good Samaritan Center in Battle Lake .

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville; brother, Kenneth Thorstad and sisters, Marjorie Wick and Dagney Hanson.

She is survived by her children, Rick Olson of Ashby, Peggy (Webb) White of Maplewood, MN and Mike (Rumiko) Olson of Germantown, MD; step-granddaughter, Manami; special friend, Ole Hodnefield of Battle Lake; brother, Vern (Carol) Thorstad of Spicer, MN; sister, Lyla (Ken) Ness of Fergus Falls and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Good Samaritan Home in Battle Lake for taking such good care of Addie.

Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2 ^nd at First Lutheran Church in Battle Lake
